🤒Sick Policy
If your child or family member living with you is feeling unwell, please stay home. Your therapy appointment should be rescheduled or moved to a virtual session if your child has:
- Fever within the past 24 hoursÂ
- Vomiting, diarrhea, or contagious illness within the past 24 hours
- Runny nose with green/yellow tint
- Redness or runny eyes (not related to allergies)
- Unexplained rashes
- Sore throat
- Hard cough
- Fatigue impacting participation
*Virtual sessions can often be arranged if your child is alert and comfortable enough to participate. Please contact HaltonHillsSpeechTherapy@gmail.com as soon as possible if you need to cancel or move to virtual sessions.
Please note, if your Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is unwell, you’ll receive a text as soon as possible to cancel in order to keep everyone healthy. Please notify your SLP if your cell phone number changes to ensure you receive updates.
đź“… Cancellation Policy
Your weekly spot is reserved for you, but we understand that things come up!
- AT LEAST 24 Â hours notice (not including holidays or weekends)Â is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. For example if your appointment is at 9:00am on Tuesdays, you have until 9:00am on Monday to cancel. If your appointment is at 3:15pm on Mondays, you have until 3:15pm on Friday to cancel at the latest.Â
- The more time you give us to cancel an appointment the better!
- Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice are be subject to the cancellation fee (exception is illness).
- Please contact HaltonHillsSpeechTherapy@gmail.com as soon as possible if you need to cancel.
*Remember: Consistent attendance supports steady progress toward communication goals.
❄️ Poor Weather Policy
As winter approaches, we can expect snow, ice, and challenging weather conditions.Please review the following guidelines:
- If Halton District School Board schools are open but buses are cancelled, the office will remain open for regular therapy visits. Please use your discretion and travel only if it is safe to do so. If you do not feel safe driving, please contact the office right away to switch to a virtual session or reschedule (keeping in mind that cancellations may be subject to the cancellation fee).
- If Halton District School Board schools are closed, the office is also closed. If your appointment is cancelled due to weather, a email/text will be sent to you. Please check your email before venturing out.
